Maiden call of NYK Line container vessel at the port of Gdansk
On the 31st of August the 13,000 TEU class vessel “NYK Hyperion” made her maiden call at the DCT terminal in Gdansk. This call is a milestone for NYK Line in their market coverage for Poland, as direct connections to and from ports in Asia can be offered with attractive transit-times via the G6 consortium loop 7 service, which offers a direct call at Gdansk. NYK Line uses this direct loop 7 call to also offer connections to their Trans-Atlantic services with a trans-shipment operation in Europe, resulting in attractive transit-times.
NYK´s Sales Manager for Poland Mr. Tomasz Mioduszewski reports: “We have already received a very positive response from clients in Poland with regard to our new direct call at Gdansk. The intermodal connections to and from Gdansk have seen very positive developments recently and therefore the entire hinterland in Poland is well connected to Gdansk”.
A wide inland depot network is used by NYK Line and carrier haulage services can be offered. NYK also offers reefer container transports to and from Poland.
NYK sales and customer service teams are based at offices in Warsaw and Gdynia.
